Getting it right
What's it all about?
A good user journey design ensures a web site meets the needs and expectations of users as they click through a web site. Some would call it closed loop marketing, we call it making the most of the traffic that arrives at your web site.
How does it work?
We help define the goals of the web site and then plan and track how users of a web site reach those goals. By plotting their route through the site and ensuring their journey is optimised to show the right content at the right time we help the user arrive at their final destination.
Step 1: Profiling
We work with you to draw up profiles of who uses your web site, what they are looking for and what would encourage them to buy.
Step 2: Testing your current web site
If you have a current web site then we look at how your current web site tries to signpost users to the defined goals. We can then through web analytics work out where your current site is leaking potential or existing customers.
Step 3: Design the user journeys
We draw up an amended site map detailing the pages that will appear on your web site and the various paths through these pages that your users will take. We also create wire frame documents which are outline designs for the all the steps along an individuals journey to the defined goal.
Step 4: Track and review
We track your conversions and once a period will provide a report and suggestions on improvements to the web site which will result in a higher conversion rate and a lower cost per acquisition going forward.
Step 5: Implement the changes
Start again from step 3. Implement some or all of the changes we suggest depending on their perceived value and then start the process of designing the user journeys, tracking and review and implementation again.
